Category A

Motor vehicles with or without side-car.

Category A 1

Motor vehicles with a piston displacement of no more than 125 cm3 and an engine power of no more than 11 kW. For 16 and 17 year-old drivers a speed limit of 80 km/h is fixed.

Category B

Motor vehicles of an allowed total mass of no more than 3500 kg and no more than 8 seats besides the driver seat. (The same for a combination with a trailer of up to 750 kg total mass or up to an empty mass of the draught vehicle if the total mass of the combination is no more than the allowed 3500 kg.)
